Allen Bradford, Esq.
Allen Bradford is the founder and managing attorney of Bradford, Perlstein & Associates, LLC. He is an experienced legal counselor and executive, having counseled managed care, health professional, IT and other business and professional clients for more than 25 years, including as Health Care Chief Counsel to a Fortune 200 corporation and now as legal counsel to multiple emerging businesses. Allen is well acquainted with the legal landscape that impacts his clients, such as the Affordable Care Act and its related regulations, state licensing and practice rules, major contracting issues and more. He also understands the web of relationships between health professionals, insurers, employer groups, regulators, consumers and related contractors. The result is a practical, business oriented approach to advising his clients.
Allen’s roots as counselor to professionals and growing businesses are broad and deep. He began his legal career representing health professionals and small businesses, including in entrepreneurial endeavors and as a commercial litigator. He later joined Healthsource, Inc., leading a regional legal team that supported rapid growth in multiple states. After CIGNA Corporation bought Healthsource, Allen held a variety of legal positions, supporting Operations, National Provider Contracting, external procurement and IT, ultimately becoming Chief Counsel for CIGNA HealthCare, CIGNA’s largest business segment. Yearning to return to his entrepreneurial roots, Allen embarked on a new path in 2010, establishing Bradford, Perlstein to focus on supporting growing and emerging businesses and health professionals.
Allen belongs to multiple bar associations and has served on several boards, for-profit and non-for-profit. He also serves on the Ethics Committee for Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. Allen has spoken at numerous health law and business conferences. He has written articles and posts occasional blogs addressing practical health care claim and legal issues for consumers and small businesses.
Allen is licensed in the states of Connecticut, Georgia and Tennessee. He graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia and its School of Law, was elected Phi Beta Kappa and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Sierra Leone. He is a Boy Scout Citizenship Merit Badge counselor and amateur historian, and enjoys hiking and camping.
