A Connecticut native, she received her Diploma in Nursing from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing, followed by a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Hartford, member of Sigma Theta Tau. Her nursing career includes experience in pediatrics, post-anesthesia care, home care, school nursing, and over 10 years in adult critical care medicine. She attended Western New England College School of Law, graduating in 1992, and is licensed in Connecticut.
